Inbox: see your notifications and get help in the app

Short answer:

Your app Inbox lets you see important notifications about your cars and trips, and start a new live chat with our support team.

You can access your Inbox by tapping on the Inbox tab at the bottom of the app.

See notifications about your cars and trips

Important push notifications about your cars or trips live forever in your Inbox, after the push notification has gone from your phone. It’s a good idea to check your Inbox regularly so you don’t miss important notifications.

  1. In your Inbox, tap ‘Messages’ at the top of the screen
  2. Select the a car or trip to view all the related notifications

If you find you’re not receiving push notifications, try these troubleshooting tips. You can always check your Inbox for notifications you’ve missed.

Get help when you need it with live chat

Live chat is the quickest and easiest way to get in touch with our support team. You can start a new chat, or view and respond to previous chats from within Inbox. Live chat is available from 6.00am to midnight Sydney time, seven days a week. If you message us outside of these hours, we’ll respond as soon as we can.

  1. In your Inbox, tap ‘Support’ at the top of the screen
  2. Select the chat you’d like to view or respond to, or tap ‘Start a chat’ to start a new live chat

Automate a welcome message to Borrowers (Owners only)

Sending a welcome message to your Borrowers before their trip is a great way to thank them for their booking and remind them that they’re borrowing a real person’s car. It’s also helpful to include any important instructions about your car that they really need to know.

You can write your welcome message once and we’ll automatically send it to every Borrower who books your car.

  1. Go to Cars > Manage this car > Profile > Car manual in the website or Cars > Profile > Car manual in the app
  2. Write your welcome message in the ‘Welcome message’ field
  3. Click ‘Save changes’

Every time a Borrower books your car, we’ll send them your welcome message as a push notification or SMS. It will also go to their app Inbox so they can view it anytime.

Hi there! Thanks for booking my car. Please take care of it and return it clean. All the information you need will be in the Car Next Door app during your trip. If you have any questions, read my car manual in the app or get in touch. Enjoy your trip!
