If your car is damaged or lost through hail, fire or theft

Short answer:

Your coverage under our comprehensive fleet insurance policy includes coverage for loss or damage due to fire, flood, hail or theft. If one of these events occurs while your car is covered by our insurance, whoever has the car at the time is responsible for paying their Damage Cover Liability amount.

Damage during a Borrower's booking

If a car is damaged or lost due to hail, fire, flood or theft during a Borrower's booking, it will be covered by our insurance. The Borrower will be responsible for paying for repairs up to their Damage Cover Liability (DCL) amount. Our insurer will cover the rest.

  1. Report the damage or loss to use as soon as possible
  2. We’ll charge the right person for their DCL amount
  3. We’ll manage the claim with the insurer and help to arrange the repairs

Damage outside a Borrower's booking

If you're on our Key Handover or Instant Keys sharing plans, your car isn't covered by our insurance outside a Borrower's booking. You'll need to contact your own insurer and manage the claim directly with them. If the damage makes your car undriveable, make sure you block it out until it’s repaired so it’s not available to Borrowers.

If you're on our Instant Keys Plus+ plan (or legacy $60/month plan), your car is covered by our insurance at all times. If it’s damaged or lost due to hail, fire, flood or theft outside a Borrower’s booking, you’ll be responsible for paying your DCL amount.
