When your car joins Car Next Door, we'll issue it with a fuel card to be kept in the glovebox. Borrowers use the card if they need to refuel during their trip. Each card is linked to a specific car, and can only be used to buy fuel for that car. It's the service station's responsibility to make sure the card is being used for the correct car.
We monitor the use of fuel cards and are alerted if a card is used multiple times in a day or to pay for more fuel than a car's tank can take. You can also see all the transactions on your fuel card on your invoice each month, including how many litres were purchased in each transaction. If you suspect that a borrower has misused your fuel card, please report it to us so that we can investigate further.
