Notifications of new bookings on your car

Short answer:

Each time a Borrower books your car, you'll receive an email and SMS or push notification with the time and date of the booking and the Borrower's contact details.

If you're on our Key Handover plan, you'll need to contact the Borrower so you can arrange to meet and give them the keys before the booking.

If you're on our Instant Keys plan, our secure lockbox handles the key exchange for you so you just need to make sure your car is clean and has at least quarter tank of fuel, and the key and lockbox are in place.

Some owners like to SMS the Borrower before the booking to say hello and remind them of any key information, but that's up to you. Borrowers receive all the instructions they need through the app.

SMS or push notifications

To receive push notifications about your bookings, you'll need to have the Car Next Door app installed and ensure that notifications are on. Navigate to the app settings for your device, select the Car Next Door app and ensure that notifications are turned on.

If you turn notifications off for the app, you'll still receive notifications by SMS so that you don't miss any important messages about your car's bookings.

If two people log in to the app to manage the same car on different devices, both need to have notifications turned on in their app settings. If one person has notifications turned off on their phone, it will turn them off for the other person as well.

Unsubscribing from booking notifications 

You can manage which booking notifications you receive, and by which channels, through the notifications preferences centre.
