Renting out your car with a suspended licence or L plates or P plates

Short answer:

You can rent your car out while your licence is suspended or while you're on your L or P plates, but you won't be able to borrow cars through Car Next Door.

Suspended licence

If your licence is suspended, please let us know when you complete your account verification. We'll block your account from borrowing other cars through Car Next Door. If your car needs servicing, cleaning or repairs you may be able to use one of our mobile car care service partners, or ask someone with a licence to drive it to the mechanic or car wash.

L or P plates

If you have a learner's or provisional licence (L or P plates), you can rent out your car but you can't borrow other cars through Car Next Door. We'll block your account from borrowing other cars until you have a full licence.

If your car is listed under a sharing plan that covers you for your own driving (Full-Time Fleet, Legacy $60/month plan or legacy Instant Keys Plus+ plan), your excess will be higher while you are on your Ls or Ps.
