Short answer:

The keys to the car are stored in a small electronic lockbox (we call it 'Fred'). It is kept either on the outside of the car or attached to a wall, fence or door nearby. Fred keeps the keys safe and handy so the borrower and car owner don't need to meet.

The lockbox has a keypad on the front and Borrowers receive a unique one-time-use code 15 minutes before their booking begins. They just punch in the code, out pops the key and they just pop it back in once they've parked and locked the car at the end of the booking.
