Specifying what type of fuel Borrowers use

Short answer:

When you first apply to list your car, you select which type of fuel Borrowers should use to refuel your car. You can change this at any time through the website.

Changing your car's fuel type

  1. Log in to the website (not app)
  2. Go to Cars > Manage car > Edit profile > About
  3. Under 'Fuel type' choose your preferred fuel type from the drop-down menu
  4. Click 'Save changes'

This will update the instructions Borrowers receive when driving your car. To get a new sticker for your car's fuel door, send an email to members@carnextdoor.com.au

You can choose from the following fuel types:

  • Regular unleaded 91 or E10 (E10 is appropriate for the vast majority of cars that take 91)
  • Premium Unleaded 95
  • Premium Unleaded 98
  • Diesel
  • LPG
  • Electric

Each car's preferred fuel type is set by the manufacturer, so if you're not sure check your car's manual.

We let the Borrowers know why type of fuel to use in their trip instructions and in the booking confirmation email. We also provide stickers when installing your car that go on the fuel cap door specifying the type of fuel to be used.
